Verse 1
When the sky begins to tremble
And the stars refuse to shine
When the earth cries out in sorrow
At the ending of all time
Through the storm and through the fire
Still Your promise lights the way
Every tear will turn to glory
On that resurrection day
Pre-Chorus
We’ve been waiting, watching, praying
Holding on through darkest night
Chorus
When the trumpet sounds, we will rise
Lift our eyes beyond the skies
Graves will open, saints will sing
Hallelujah to our King
No more sorrow, no more pain
We will see His face again
When the trumpet sounds so loud
We’ll be gathered in the clouds
Verse 2
Nations fall and kingdoms crumble
But Your Word will always stand
Through the trials and the testing
You are holding every hand
Though the night feels never-ending
Faith will carry us along
For the dawn is surely coming
And redemption is our song
Pre-Chorus
Every promise You have spoken
Will be shining in the light
Chorus
When the trumpet sounds, we will rise
Lift our eyes beyond the skies
Graves will open, saints will sing
Hallelujah to our King
No more sorrow, no more pain
We will see His face again
When the trumpet sounds so loud
We’ll be gathered in the clouds
Bridge
He is coming in His glory
With the angels shining bright
Every knee will bow before Him
In everlasting light
From the east unto the west
Every heart will finally know
Jesus reigns forevermore
And His kingdom will unfold
Final Chorus (bigger, uplifting)
When the trumpet sounds, we will rise
Leave behind these earthly ties
Death defeated, victory won
We are called, “My child, come home”
No more darkness, only day
He will wipe our tears away
When the trumpet shakes the ground
We’ll be saved, we’ll be found
