[Intro]
Sunrise whispers in the air, a gentle start
[Verse 1]
Today begins with the orchestra of birds, singing away yesterday
Welcoming in today, you wake up and the wind kisses your cheeks
Out to the doorway, you see the sunrise, you smile to the sun
And the sun smiles back, a quiet light on your heart
[Chorus]
Dear wind, dear wind, take my worries away
Bring in the joys of today, let the pain fade to gray
Dear heaven, dear heaven, come nearer and stay
Make every moment brighter, in your light I’ll begin today
[Verse 2]
Blue skies above, thoughts of heaven in the blue
Yesterday’s mistakes fade as the morning blues turn to hue
Today is fresh from yesterday, a clean slate to explore
Do not fear the past, today I’m learning a little more
[Chorus]
Dear wind, dear wind, take my worries away
Bring in the joys of today, let the pain fade to gray
Dear heaven, dear heaven, come nearer and stay
Make every moment brighter, in your light I’ll begin today
[Bridge]
Starting a day at a time, a garden of new worth
Every petal opening wide, a heart that finds its birth
A leaf turned over, a dawn anew, a hopeful spark
A flower waking softly to the sun’s warm arc
[Verse 3]
So open your heart to the lights of everyday
A new fresh day, a new fresh person in your sway
Sing the song of a life that starts fresh and bright
Let today be the chorus shining with light
[Chorus]
Dear wind, dear wind, take my worries away
Bring in the joys of today, let the pain fade to gray
Dear heaven, dear heaven, come nearer and stay
Make every moment brighter, in your light I’ll begin today
[Outro]
A new kind of day, a new kind of you, today
A gentle start, a hopeful heart, today’s OK
