[UK RAP – “SILENT WEIGHT”]
Yeah…
Listen.
They told me “man up”, don’t cry, don’t bend,
So I learned how to bleed without showing the wounds to them.
Lost my dad young, never learnt how to be a man,
Just a boy with questions nobody could understand.
Mum was there, yeah, I’ll never deny,
But she remarried, new life, new guy.
I was stuck in my head, tryna process pain,
While the house felt full but I still felt strange.
No man-to-man talks, no guidance, no frame,
Just silence and pressure with my surname.
I needed a voice to tell me “it’s okay”,
Instead I got “be strong” and pushed it away.
Depression ain’t loud, it whispers at night,
When the world’s asleep and you’re losing the fight.
Lonely in crowds, smiling in pics,
But my chest feels heavy like I’m sinking in bricks.
I tried love but it never stayed real,
They loved how I listened, not how I feel.
Used as a shoulder, a therapist role,
But nobody asked how I’m coping alone.
I poured my heart out, they called it “sweet”,
Then vanished when I needed support back from me.
Every girl was cap, every promise fake,
I give too much love, that was my mistake.
Addictions crept in, tryna numb the ache,
Anything to quiet the thoughts when I’m wide awake.
I don’t even chase highs, I chase some peace,
Just a moment where the pain decrease.
All my age mates shining, making it out,
While I’m stuck in the same loop, same self-doubt.
Scrolling success while I rot in place,
Asking God why I’m behind in this race.
They don’t see the battles I fight in my head,
The nights I rehearse everything I never said.
I’m strong on the surface, broken inside,
A man with emotions he’s forced to hide.
I wanted guidance, a hand on my shoulder,
Someone to tell me life gets colder but you grow bolder.
Instead I grew quiet, learned to endure,
Carrying trauma I never got cured.
If I fall apart, they’d say I’m weak,
So I bleed on beats, let the mic speak.
This ain’t a cry for help, it’s truth in a verse,
I survived the pain but it left me wo
