Gethsemane, the place where Jesus' heart was cursed
He went there to pray, with sweat and tears
Fearing the cross, but still he held his fears
"Papa, take this cup away," he cried
But God's plan was clear, he'd have to abide
He rose up strong, like a warrior in the night
Said, "Not my will, but yours, make it right"
Gethsemane, a garden of pain
Where Jesus wrestled, but still remained
Faithful to the end, no surrender in sight
He faced the darkness, and shone the light
He took the blows, he felt the sting
The betrayal cut deep, like a wicked wing
Judas kissed him, Peter denied his name
But Jesus prayed on, in the fire and the flame
"Stoop down low, drink from the cup"
He rose up tall, like a warrior getting up
Sweat like blood, the weight was heavy
But he took it on, for you and me, he was ready
Gethsemane, a moment in time
Where love and sacrifice intertwined
He chose the cross, he chose the pain
So we could live, he gave his name
He walked the path, through the olive trees
The weight of sin, it weighed down his knees
He cried out loud, "Abba, Father, guide"
But the road ahead, was where he had to stride
The disciples slept, as he fought the fight
But Jesus stayed woke, in the dark of night
He rose up strong, like the morning sun
"Thy will be done," his heart had won
The soldiers came, with swords and fire
But Jesus stood tall, like a heart that desires
To save the lost, to heal the pain
He took the blow, and rose again
He faced the mob, with a gentle hand
"Who do you seek?" he asked, they said, "It's him, stand"
The kiss of Judas, a friend's disguise
But Jesus loved on, with tear-filled eyes
Peter drew his sword, cut off the ear
But Jesus healed, showed love without fear
"Put away your sword," he said with a grin
"I'll drink the cup, the Father's plan begins"
The trials came, with false accusations too
But Jesus stayed calm, his heart was true
Pilate washed hands, but couldn't shake the guilt
Jesus took the cross, his love was built
