(Of the Four Seasons of Life)
oooo-oooo-oooo!
oooooooo!
Four are the seasons that manifest themselves to mortals,
and through each one the human spirit walks,
sometimes light with hope, sometimes burdened with memories.
In each season something new is discovered,
a mystery that time weaves with invisible hands:
sometimes it changes our fate forever;
sometimes it passes, like a wind that leaves no trace.
Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter:
thus is ordered the cycle that governs life.
Spring, gentle maiden,
(gentle maiden)!
oooo-oooo-oooo!
reanimates our dormant feelings
and makes sprout in our hearts what we thought dead,
like a flower that bursts forth from the bosom of the cold earth.
Summer, ardent knight,
(ardent knight,oooo-oooo-oooo!!)
(ardent knight,oooo-oooo-oooo!!)
brings with it vigor, strength, and splendor,
kindling in us high desires and dreams,
like the sun that reigns sovereign in the firmament.
Autumn, wise old man with gentle steps,
(wise old man with gentle steps,)
oooo-oooo-oooo!!
strips the trees of their golden garments
and teaches the heart the value of detachment,
for all beauty, one day, returns to dust.
Winter, silent elder,
(Winter, silent elder,)!!
(sometimes light with hope, sometimes burdened with memories.!!)
envelops us in its cloak of retreat
so that the soul may rest, meditate, and renew itself,
preparing for the coming rebirth.
