I HAVEN’T DIED INSIDE YET
They left me in the middle of the road, with no answers, no hand to hold. I was alone with my own wreckage, learning the hard way to carry on.
I swallowed words, chewed on failures, slept with my head at war. My body wanted to stop, my mind wanted to run, but my feet stayed on the ground.
Chorus I came from abandonment, from the bottom of the fall, from the place where nobody wants to stay. I tore strength out of my own wounds, learned to stand back up on my own.
I’m no hero, I’m not invincible. I have fear, anger, and scars. But every time life knocks me down, I come back harder to destroy.
I watched dreams turn to ashes, watched promises disappear. I saw people who swore they would stay simply choose to walk away.
And I stayed.
With a heavy chest, with my head shattered by thoughts, with a body tired of fighting, but I stayed.
Chorus I came from abandonment, from the bottom of the fall, from the place where nobody wants to stay. I tore strength out of my own wounds, learned to stand back up on my own.
My body changed through the battle, my mind changed through the pain. What almost made me give up also taught me who I am.
Bridge I don’t want pity. I don’t want applause. I don’t want anyone saying I was strong.
I just want to look back and recognize that dreamer who almost lost everything but never lost his own path.
Final I still carry the abandonment. I still feel the weight. There are still hard days.
But now I know:
I don’t have to be whole to keep moving forward.
I have scars. I have fear. I have dreams.
And I’m still standing.
