Almost

Intro (spoken / soft humming over chords) Mmm… yeah… Where it all began… Verse 1 We met where sunlight broke through rain We laughed at moments we couldn’t explain Your hand in mine felt like forever But forever slipped quietly, like a feather Pre-Chorus I thought we’d last, I thought we’d stay But dreams have a way of fading away Chorus Almost love, almost ours Faded softly like the stars I saw the beauty, I saw the pain A story written in the rain Unfinished, left untold A heart that burned too bold Verse 2 I trace the edges of your smile I dream of roads we’d walk for miles But somewhere between the words and skies We lost the chance before our eyes Pre-Chorus I held on tight, I tried to fight But time slipped by, and you slipped from sight Chorus Almost love, almost ours Faded softly like the stars I saw the beauty, I saw the pain A story written in the rain Unfinished, left untold A heart that burned too bold Bridge If I could turn back time’s gentle hand I’d stay in the place where we began But some songs are meant to fade Like echoes of the promises we made Almost love… almost ours… Fading… softly… like the stars… I see the beauty… I feel the pain… A story… written in the rain… Unfinished… left untold… A heart… that burned… too bold… And now… I let… go… (hold the last chord… let it drift away…)
